I didn’t subscribe - why was I charged?

If you see a subscription charge you do not recognize, there are a few common explanations.

Common reasons

  • the charge belongs to a different app than the one you contacted us about
  • a free trial was not canceled before it ended and renewed into a paid subscription
  • the subscription was purchased using a different Apple ID or Google account
  • the charge is related to an existing subscription that is still active

What to check first

Please check:

  • the exact app name in your subscription or purchase history
  • the Apple ID or Google account used for the purchase
  • whether a free trial may have renewed automatically
  • whether the subscription is still active in your store account

Important note

Subscription billing, renewals, and refunds are handled by Apple or Google, depending on where the purchase was made. Support may help identify the app involved, but refund decisions usually are made by the store provider.

If you still can’t identify the charge

Please contact support and include:

  • a screenshot of the charge or receipt
  • the app name, if visible
  • your device type
  • the date and amount of the charge
