Unmix helps you separate audio into stems.
Stems are separate parts of a track, such as vocals, drums, bass, or other instrumental parts. This makes it easier to listen to, practice with, or work with different parts of the original audio.
How Unmix works
- You upload audio from your device.
- You choose how many stems you want to get.
- The audio is uploaded to our server.
- Your file is placed in a processing queue.
- When processing is finished, the task status changes to completed.
- You can then download the stems to your device.
After downloading, you can:
- listen to the stems one by one
- export stems separately, one by one
- export all stems together as a ZIP archive
You can upload:
- audio files from your device
- video files from sources such as Photos
- links from third-party sites, if audio can be extracted from that site. Not all sites support extracting audio from provided links.
Free and Premium limits
- Free users can upload files up to 3 minutes long and get 2 stems.
- Premium users can upload longer files and get 4 or 5 stems.
- Premium supports files up to 25 minutes long.
Processing time
Processing does not happen instantly. Uploaded audio is placed in a queue on the server, so the waiting time depends on the current queue.
Notifications
When processing is finished, the app can notify you. To make this easier, allow notifications for Unmix on your device.
You can also open or refresh the app to check the current status of your task.
Temporary server storage
After you download the result, the files are removed from the server after a short time. If you want to keep the stems, make sure to save or export them to your device.
About stem quality
Stem separation may not be perfect in every case. The quality of the result depends on the original audio, and some tracks may separate better than others.
