In all our applications, we give you sound packs we create ourselves in our studio or in collaboration with producers. Such sound packs are called 'library sound packs'.

In the Drum Pads 24 app, you can create your own sound pack by combining our and your sounds or recording something from a microphone. Such sound packs are called 'custom sound packs'. Creating custom sound packs is possible using the built-in feature called Project Editor.

How to create a sound pack with the Project Editor?

To start creating a new sound pack, open the Project Editor:

  • If you have an Android device: click the floating button '+' in a yellow circle on the 'Sounds' screen, enter the sound pack name and click the 'Create' button.
  • If you have an Apple device there are 2 ways to create a new sound pack:
    1. Open the 'My' tab, choose the 'Sound Packs' option,  click the 'Create Sound Pack' button, enter the sound pack name and click the 'Create' button.
    2. You can import a sound from any app directly to the Drum Pads 24 app. Not all apps support this feature, it depends on the app itself, we don't control it. Let's say you have the Files app with connected Google Drive, Dropbox, or iCloud (read how to connect them here). If you have any audio files in your Google Drive, Dropbox, or iCloud then you can open the Files app, find the audio file and click the 'Share' option for it. There will be a list of several apps. If it's the first time you want to share sounds to Drum Pads 24 then you will find the 'Open in Drum Pads 24' option in the 'Suggestions' sections. You can click the 'Edit' button in the right top corner and click the green '+' sign on the left side of the 'Open in Drum Pads 24' option. Click the 'Done' button. Now every app that supports sharing to Drum Pads 24 will show you this option. Click the 'Open in Drum Pads 24' app option, it will open the Drum Pads 24 app with the Pad Editor screen where the sounds you've chosen will be added.

Tip: when creating a new sound pack you need to save it as early as possible so that the sound pack has been saved for sure. After manually saving the custom sound pack for the first time, all further changes will be saved automatically.

So you can upload audio files to your Google Drive, connect Google Drive to the Files app and then use any audio files from your Google Drive in the Pad Editor to create your sound pack.

What are the technical requirements for the audio files for Project Editor?

Pad Editor supports audio files in the following formats:

  • *.mp3
  • *.wav (Android version strictly requires 44100 kHz, 16bit, stereo)
  • Due to technical reasons, Android devices have a 5-second limitation for a certain audio file
  • Apple devices have a 15-second limitation for a certain audio file

Other formats are not supported. Even if the file with a different format is added to the Pad Editor, it can lead to the incorrect playback of such sounds.
