You can add audio to Audio Editor in several ways.

You can add audio from:

  • files stored on your device
  • the Files app
  • cloud storage available through the Files app, such as iCloud Drive, Google Drive, or Dropbox
  • other apps that support sharing audio to Audio Editor
  • a third-party site by link, if that site allows audio extraction
  • a microphone recording made directly in the app

Add audio from your device or the Files app

You can open audio files stored on your device or available through the Files app.

On Apple devices, the Files app can also give access to connected storage services such as:

  • iCloud Drive
  • Google Drive
  • Dropbox

Add audio from another app

If another app supports sharing audio to Audio Editor, you can use that app’s Share option and open the file in Audio Editor.

Please note:

  • not all apps support sharing audio directly to Audio Editor
  • available sharing options depend on the app and your device

Add audio by link

You can also import audio from a third-party site by link.

Please note:

  • this works only if the site allows audio extraction
  • some sites do not support this, so the import may fail even if the link opens normally elsewhere

Record audio with the microphone

You can also create audio directly in Audio Editor by recording with your device microphone.

Why a file may not open

If a file does not open in Audio Editor, common reasons may include:

  • the source app does not support sharing to Audio Editor
  • the link source does not allow audio extraction
  • the issue affects only one specific file
  • the file or source may not be working as expected

What to check

If a file does not open, please check:

  • whether the issue happens with one file or all files
  • where the file is coming from
  • whether you are using a file, another app, or a link
  • whether another file works normally
